Meet Your Personal Coach - Bryan

Covid-19 Pandemic was a meaningful time for a lot of people for a lot of different reasons. Many lives were lost and forever altered, but it also provided a much needed break from our regular, everyday lives and gave us a chance to look back and reevaluate ourselves. It was also a very important time in my life as it gave me an opportunity to slowdown and take time to reprioritize what’s really important in my life and how I want to continue to live my life.

It was during the pandemic when I started to take my health more seriously. I wanted to know how I can not just survive the pandemic safely, but how I can extend my healthspan, and live a healthy life for a long time. Being born in South Korea, and growing up in sunny Southern California, I’ve always been pretty active and played variety of different sports, but as I was getting into my midlife years, I knew I needed to make some changes to continue to stay active and healthy. So with all the time in my hand with a lockdown in place, I started to devour everything I could read, listen, or watch on health and wellness. I also started to using my rowing machine again as my main exercise during this time, and I’ve been rowing everyday since.

It was also during the pandemic when I was introduced to Venerable Pomnyun sunim, a Buddhist monk from Korea whom I call my spiritual mentor, via Youtube. I started attending church soon after my family moved across the ocean in ‘94, and it was a significant part of my life growing up. However I always felt like I never got the satisfying answers to some of the big, existential questions in life from church, or I didn’t agree wholeheartedly with them, but I was able to find all the answers to my questions by watching Pomnyun sunim’s videos of answering life questions from different people. Moreover, Buddhism helped me understand the world from different perspective, and see the world for what it truly is and not with my personal biases, and how to live a life more lightheartedly.

I created the 12 Week Program to share with you everything I’ve learned about living a healthy and happy life, and to help you live your best life. By focusing on 5 Pillars of Health, I can help you improve in all aspects of life and create a daily routine that is attainable and sustainable so you can live the life we were meant to live on earth.
